After you have added the new room you'll need to click on the Room Type button, this will allow you to select the room type you intend to figure an estimate on, and will rename the room tab page to the room type you've selected. Carpet

After you've added the new room type, you'll now need to add the floor size (length x width) this will determine the floor size total square feet. You will now need to select your Carpet Material type that will be associated with a per Sq. Ft. Price. Floor Estimator will multiply the rooms total sq. ft. by the per sq. ft. price to display this rooms total cost for carpeting.

Note: Figuring carpet padding uses the same above method.

Labor

There is also a labor section for estimating labor for this room, simply choose the amount of hours and the hourly rate, or you can simply enter in you're own costs into the box labeled Enter Costs.

Carpet Rooms 1-9 Material Costs List

Carpet Rooms 1-9 Material Costs List shows the price per selected material/item and the price of that material

item, and the amount needed for that job/estimate, it shows all chosen materials and material costs for carpeting these rooms. Used when ordering materials.

Note: This next two screen shots only shows Rooms 1-2, in Floor Estimator it will show all the rooms you have included in the carpet section of the estimate.

Carpet Labor: Per Sq. Ft. (Piece Work)

The Carpet Labor Per Sq. Ft (Piece Work) form totals all rooms (1-18) total sq. ft.

Labor: Per Sq. Foot / Piece Work: Allows the estimator to choose the labor output amount per sq ft./per hour and divides it into the different Room types total sq. ft. Which gives the amount of hours it'll take to floor this job. Each different floor type: Carpet, Vinyl, Tile and Hardwood all include a form called Labor (Per Sq. Ft.) Piece Work, It totals the different rooms areas into a total sq. ft. and then divides this by the amount of labor output you select, giving you the amount of hours it'll take to apply this floor type to these rooms and then multiplies it by the hourly rate you select.

Note: Hourly labor is also shown on this form, it is a copy of each rooms labor section, it is only viewable, you can not change it on this labor form.

PrimaryBid_Worksheet: Carpet Costs/Details (Total  Bid Costs)
